Welcome to Neurotherapy Victoria, a leading provider of neurofeedback and counselling services in Victoria, Australia. We are licensed professionals dedicated to helping our clients achieve optimal mental health and well-being through a holistic approach to therapy.

At Neurotherapy Victoria, we believe that the mind and body are interconnected, and that by addressing both aspects, we can help our clients achieve lasting results. Our services include neurofeedback, a non-invasive therapy that uses advanced technology to monitor brain activity and provide real-time feedback to help improve cognitive function, emotional regulation, and behaviour.

In addition to neurofeedback, we also offer counselling services for Adults, Youth and families. Our therapists use evidence-based approaches such as cognitive-behavioural therapy, mindfulness, and solution-focused therapy to help our clients overcome a range of mental health concerns, including anxiety, depression, trauma, and more.

Meet the team

Social Worker (Counselling), Neurotherapy Practitioner & Coach

James Reid is a dedicated Social Worker and Neurotherapy Practitioner who holds a Master’s in Social Work, a Graduate Diploma in Psychology, and is an accredited Tuning into Kids facilitator. His professional journey includes impactful placements in primary and secondary schools, showcasing a commitment to nurturing the well-being of young minds.

In his private practice, James addresses a broad spectrum of symptoms for clients of all ages, utilizing focused psychological practices, coaching, and alternative therapies. As a devoted father and Volunteer Scout leader, he brings a holistic understanding of life to his practice, highlighting the importance of balance and well-rounded growth in the individual as well as the family. 

James’s interest and ongoing education in Neuropsychophysiology explores the intricate relationship between an individual’s brain functioning and their psychological/physical symptoms.

As an Accredited Mental Health Social Worker with a Masters in Social Work, and over 30 years of experience as a Registered Nurse in the areas of Mental Health and Chronic Disease, I bring a unique perspective to my private practice. For the past decade, I have provided both traditional counselling and psychotherapy, as well as alternative therapies, recognizing the importance of a holistic approach to mental health that takes into account both physical and psychological factors. My client base includes adults and children, and I am committed to tailoring my approach to meet the individual needs of each person.

In addition, I am a BCIA Certified Neurofeedback Practitioner, having undergone extensive training with Ochslabs (USA);  Sigfried and Sue Othmer (USA); the Neurotherapy Institute of Australasia and NeuroField (USA).  I am also a practicing Buddhist, and offer training in meditation and other aspects of Buddhist-informed psychotherapy and counselling to those interested in this philosophy.
